Our apostolate in the field of education is a call to take part in the teaching mission of the Church. True education is directed towards the development of personality, in view of the ultimate end of man. In our schools we create an atmosphere conducive to share the Eucharistic spirit and to help the evangelization process. We help our young to develop healthy personalities with higher values and to assimilate the profound qualities of Jesus Christ.
We have gone far in the field of education gathering strength and inspiration from the great vision of our founder. We have generously set apart our human and material resources for progress in this field. Through formal and informal education programmes we make special arrangements to teach the people from the tribal and underdeveloped areas of Punjab. Our Founder, Ven.Mar Thomas Kurialacherry has long before written: “By renewing and bettering families, countries and localities through girl’s schools, we can draw them most effectively to God”.Our sisters are serving in 12 schools under the Diocesan Management and 3 schools under our own management. The main aim of the entire educational endeavour of the Congregation is to bring about a social transformation with emphasis on an option for the poor coupled with a target of a moral reconstruction of the society. In our Schools, scholarships and concessions are given to economically poor students. Conscious of the aims of human and Christian education we try to give an excellent and all-round formation to the students in our educational institutions. We concentrate more on quality than on quantity and foster good inter-personal relations. In this process, we are conscious that our exemplary life always remains the most important factor in our educational apostolate. In the schools we conduct Religious and moral instruction classes and thereby cultivating in the children and youth a spirit of prayer, sense of discipline, responsibility, generosity and truthfulness. Our schools play an important role in the building of the Nation with solid citizens. Being convinced of the importance of education in the modern world and keeping alive the legacy inherited from our founder, Ven. Mar Thomas Kurialacherry, most of the members of the province are engaged in this apostolate.
